Modern architect and sculptor Catalano (b. Argentina 1917, has lived and worked in USA since 1952) presents written and graphic material with reflection on his art, architecture, his unfinished and finished projects and relevant life anecdotes. The edition includes descriptions and plans of some of his projects, characteristic for his geometric hyperbolic parabolic roofs and his sculptures made with aluminum and steel. Some projects mentioned include: the Raleigh House (demolished in 2000), the US embassies in Buenos Aires and in Pretoria, South Africa, the Juilliard School of Music, Civic Centers of Springfield and Portland and the 18 ton stainless steel and aluminium Floralis Generica, the public sculpture that has become an icon of Buenos Aires. N.B. this book appears to be available only in Argentina.
