Catalogue of selected pieces of the donated holdings of the museum dedicated to the memory of president Salvador Allende in Chile. The works by world artists and many Chilean exiles were donated before president Allende's assassination and during the military junta resulting from an effort of international solidarity for the recuperation of democracy of Chile. The diversity of styles, origins and aesthetic value of the collection represent an opportunity to present texts by art expert Patricio M. Zárate regarding modern and post-modern artistic styles (abstract, surrealism, abstract expressionism and nonfigurative trends), the new representation strategies, the critical option, the new behaviors and the postmodernist artistic practices. The building that houses the museum was an army intelligence headquarters (CNI) during the military regime of president Pinochet.
