Two years after his death the first MAJOR retrospective exhibition of artist Grippo's (b. Argentina 1936-2002) life and work. Grippo, one of the most unique and respected contemporary artists from Argentina. In the seventies, his work entered into the field of conceptual art, where he made his most significant contributions. He was part of the "Grupo de los Trece", then the "Grupo CAYC", and from then on his presence on the international art scene was uninterrupted. The exhibition presents a selection of his installations made from 1971 to 2001, essays by prestigious critics and an anthology of his writings illustrated with photographs from his personal archive. Although he started as painter and engraver, Grippo evolved into sculpture and finally to objects and kinetic constructions, becoming in 1970 an exponent of Conceptual Art in its regional version called Arte de Sistemas.
