Exhibit in commemoration of 447th anniversary of the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Historic reproductions of photographs and panoramas of city views during the turn of the 20th century from Alfonso Antonio de Freitas. When Afonso Antonio de Freitas was born in 1868 Sao Paulo had 25,000 inhabitants. During his famous journalistic/writing career he was especially concerned with documenting Brazilian history and urbanization with special emphasis on Sao Paulo. This exhibit reproduces his photographic collection, most of which have handwritten notations in the margins in which he chronicles the architecture and urban development in Sao Paulo. IMPORTANT REFERENCE FOR ARCHITECTURE AND URBANIZATION.
