Juan Alcázar (b. Oaxaca, Mexico 1955-2013) who understood art as a way of sharing, teaching, and the means to create bridges between artistic tradition and the people, particularly from Oaxaca. At age 27 he created the Taller Libre de Gráfica Oaxaqueña, a free printing workshop where Francisco Toledo and Günter Gerzso amongst other artists gathered to work. He was also the founder of the workshop Taller de Artes Plásticas "Rufino Tamayo" in the city of Oaxaca.
