Focusing on Brazilian art from the late 1950's to 2005, the Instituto Tomie Ohtake, (Sao Paulo), published a major editorial project of four volumes set that document in detail the events related to 4 exhibitions by 4 different curators, presented into homonyms books. Organized between 2006 and 2007, these events brought together more than 350 artists from different artistic moments in Brazil, in a period marked by a sophisticated dialogue between the arts with other artistic movements in vogue in the country. The third volume corresponds to the exhibition " 80/90 moderns, postmoderns, etc.", organized by the Instituto Tomie Ohtake of São Paulo, in the year 2007, presented the Brazilian art of the late 20th century. About 70 artists emerging between the mid-1980 and 1990, when there was a sudden increase in the number of artists and a significant change in Brazilian contemporary art. Through the exhibition it was possible to perceive that the artistic production of this decade was based in the openness of the cultural production, as a resulting effect of the reinforcement of the military dictatorship, which was losing ground at the beginning of 1980 finally expiring in decade of 1985. This period also promoted a dialogue established with the new generation of artists already recognized at an international level, like Adriana Varejão, Alex Cerveny, Luzzati, Mauro Mariannita, Rosângela Rennó, Fuke and José Bechara and others.
