The exhibition with pictures and materials that reveal the history of the main Brazilian illustrated magazine of the twentieth century, and that was decisive for the implementation of photojournalism in the country. The exposition is guided by the relationship between the images produced by photographers and Photo Reports as they were published. This approach focuses on the 1940s and 1950s, the period of greatest activity and distribution of the magazine. The curator of the exhibition is the professor and curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art, USP, Helouise Costa, and Sergio Burgi, coordinator of photography Instituto Moreira Salles. The exhibition was on show in IMS-RJ between July and October of 2012, and between November 2012 and March this year in IMS-SP. In the exhibition presents some of the contributions of Jean Manzon, José Medeiros, Peter Scheier, Henri Ballot, Pierre Verger, Marcel Gautherot, Luciano Carneiro, Solomon SCLIAR, Indalécio Wanderley, Ed Keffel, Roberto Maia, Mário de Moraes, Eugenio Silva, Carlos Moskovics, Flávio Damm and Luiz Carlos Barreto. Many of the images belong to the collection IMS. Others were transferred by other files: Estado de Minas, Pierre Verger Foundation, APESP (Public Collection of São Paulo), Samuel Collection Gorberg and personal collections of Luiz Carlos Barreto and Flavio Damm.
