Anthological edition devoted to the over 45 year-career of photographer, curator and author Sara Facio (b. Argentina 1932), considered one of the great Argentine artists of the 20th century. This multi-awarded photographer was a pioneer in many ways: she introduced photographic biographies, the series of shots in the style of journalism, the natural portrait, experimentation with color over black and white copies, dissemination of photography -through articles, bibliographies, reviews of exhibitions and news techniques from Argentina and from abroad- in the media, and the creation of a publishing company devoted exclusively to books by or about photography "La Azotea Editorial Fotográfica", amongst other achievements of her most noticeable and impressive career. The book clearly reflects both sides of her 5 decades of brilliant career: one as a photographer, another as theoretical. "Both I have traveled them with the same passion", he acknowledges. Facio lived with her partner poet, novelist, musician, dramaturge, writer and composer María Elena Walsh until her death in 2011. The book clearly reflects both sides of her 5 decades of brilliant career: one as a photographer, another as theoretical. "Both I have traveled them with the same passion", he acknowledges. "Undoubtedly there is no one more deserving of an anthology in book form than Sara Facio, because of her constant contribution to reflections on all aspects of Argentine photography. This retrospective requires particular analysis because it combines her roles as photographer and curator that have so deeply marked the development of several of her colleagues."--P. 243.
