For ten years, artist Francis Alÿs (b. Belgium, 1959, lives and works in Mexico City) has chased tornados in the higlands south of Mexico City, hoping to penetrate video camera in hand, the peaceful eye of the storm. This book is loose compilation of the notes, drawings, paintings, press clippings and extracts from writings that the artists gathered during the last season of filming and the editing of "Tornado", one of the highlights of the 29th Bienal de São Paulo. The book offers a unique insight into the creative process of one of today's most significant contemporary artists. ENGLISH AND PORTUGUESE TEXT.
