Maldonado, Uruguay; Montevideo: Galería de las Misiones, José Ignacio, enero 2009. b/w and color plates, ports., bio./chron., cat., bibl., ind., color pict. fldg. wrps. Item #91824

Exhibition devoted to painter Juan de Andrés (b. Uruguay 1941), who has lived for decades in Barcelona. This exhibit marks his return to Uruguay to present his most recent artwork. His artistic formation included masters like Joaquin Torres Garcia, Carlos Llanos and Daymán Antúnez, although since has evolved into a sensible geometric abstraction that represents "his wish to invoke silence". ENGLISH AND SPANISH TEXT.
