The present study analyses the habitat as a result of the interaction between people, events and urban spaces through the history of diverse historical periods of a specific place in Bogotá: the crossing of the Jiménez Avenue with the Carrera Séptima Street, covering from the foundation of the city to present days. Author architect Perilla integrates historical sources, narration, chronicles and literature dedicated to urban narrative and new historical novels as main sources to vividly delineate the physical characteristics and the historic, social and cultural events which have define and characterize the place till this day. En el presente estudio, se aborda la construcción del tapiz que constituye el habitar en un espacio significativo de Bogotá, el cruce de la Avenida Jiménez con Carrera Séptima, en los diversos períodos históricos, desde el nacimiento de la ciudad hasta hoy, integrando la memoria y la cotidianidad como aspectos inherentes a las vivencias del lugar. No escapan en este proceso las diversas representaciones gráficas que han moldeado el lugar en las mentes de las personas, a lo largo de diversas etapas de la historia del lugar y de la ciudad. El hábitat constituye así la trama que, con el soporte de los espacios físicos resultantes de procesos socioculturales, configura los territorios.
