Itinerant exhibition of 5 monumental mural maps painted by artist Covarrubias (b. Mexico 1904-1957) and exhibited in the Golden Gate International Exhibition held on Treasure Island in San Francisco, California from 1939 to 1940. The murals depict the multiethnic composition, flora, fauna, vernacular architecture, economy and transportation means of the Pacific Ocean zone. The murals have never been exhibited outside the United States and on this occasion will be shown in several venues in Mexico. Exhibition curated by Alfonso de Maria y Campos, present INAH director and consul of México in San Francisco.
Este libro muestra y detalla los fascinantes mapas murales realizados por Miguel Covarrubias para la exhibición internacional del Golden Gate en la Isla del Tesoro entre 1938 y 1939 y que hablan de los pueblos del Pacífico, tanto Asiáticos como Americanos.
