Catalogue is a retrospective homage to artist Gutiérrez (b. Ecuador, 1927-d. Guadalajara, Mexico 2003) presenting 50 art pieces (paintings, sculptures, ceramics, tapestries and objects) created between 1978 and 2003 from private collections in Mexico and Ecuador and of MAAC. The artist's colorful work has deep roots in popular/folk art. He work often reflects her search for paradise in the two countries where she lived and worked. She was a leader in the feminist movement in Ecuador. The exhibition was curated by Ricardo Duarte Méndez. Essays by Edward Sullivan, Juan Hadatty Saltos. LIMITED EDITION OF 1000.
