Biographic study that includes excerpts from discourses by Haya de la Torre (b. Peru 1895-1979). Haya de la Torre was a political leader and founder of the Peruvian political party APRA (Alianza Popular Revolucionaria Americana) and the anti-military movement known as Aprismo. Illustrated with photographs by "Chino" Dominguez. De la Torre a charismatic leader exiled several times by the military and oligarchic government, favored universal democracy, equal rights and respect for indigenous populations, agrarian reforms and spoke fervently against US imperialism and Soviet communism.
