Xul Solar (b. Argentina 1887-1963) is one of the most noteworthy artists in the history of modern art in Argentina. He along with Emilio Pettoruti and Joaquin Torres Garcia and writers Macedonio Fernandez and Jorge Luis Borges were part of the avant-garde artistic movement at the beginning of the 20th century in Argentina. Influenced by European painters such as: Picasso, Braque, Klee and Kandinsky, during his career he was always a painter of his mystic visions filled with symbols, using his unique abstract and often cubist style. A MAJOR REFERENCE.
