In this new exhibition, Mario Cravo Neto (b. Bahia, Brazil 1947), has added a new profile by turning the exhibiting space into a stage and expanding the theatrical feeling for his edited black and white and color studio photography. The images have gained monumental scale, they edit themselves spatially, they are lit from the inside (being projections) in addition to being mounted, and finally he brings music to the core of the work. Neto uses the sound and drumbeats of the "orixas"in waves. Assembling several works that reflect his native Bahia and the relationship of man with tropical nature, ethnic, coexistence and religious syncretism. Neto is one of the most famous and prolific fine art photographers currently working in Brazil. ENGLISH AND PORTUGUESE TEXT.
