Exhibition catalogue of the art of Karin Lambrecht (b. Brazil 1957-) who lives and works in Porto Alegre. Frequent contact with Iberê Camargo and prolonged studies in Germany (influenced by Beuys) may have contributed to her penchant towards obscure hues and a forceful materiality. . Lambrecht uses only natural pigments and animal blood to create images on cloth. A primary theme is the painting as body. The artist at times uses body and/or entrails of an animal to leave indelible images on the cloth.
