This publication studies the concept of «cultures», opting for the plural and renouncing the singular. With this theoretical and political exercise, the author avoids giving in to the Western notion of "culture", which highlights its uniqueness and is confused with "high culture" and the fine arts. In this way, it assumes a decolonial position to the extent that diversity and conflictive heterogeneity, characteristics of our reality, are accepted. It evokes the classical anthropological notion of «culture» as a way of thinking, living, being and feeling of the peoples, and identifies it with the struggles of the ethnic and political movements of the Latin American indigenous people, who were only able to claim the last third of the 20th century for their rights.
