RARE. They are the last lessons of Maestro Torres; summarize and complement his doctrine and constitute a fundamental testimony of his life and his art, as well as of his writing style. The lectures were given by Torres García at the Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias from 1947-1948 under the title: "RECUPERACION DEL OBJETO Lecciones Sobre Plástica". The first printing of the transcripts is this posthumous edition from 1952 published in the Journal of the Faculty of Humanities and Sciences with the same title as the book in question with an introduction of Emilio Oribe. Torres García, in addition to his art, was a teacher whose discipline spanned various categories and modes, all centered the same; the didactic action of the teacher, linked to the concept and feeling that governed his artistic creation.
