Life and work of Pedro Figari (b. Montevideo 1861-1938), a painter, lawyer, writer, and politician, Figary he dedicated his life to portraying the dramas and the joys of the black population of Uruguay. Although more joyful moments than sad ones, his visual chronicle of Afro-descendants does not forget the pain that slavery left as a legacy.
