A selection of the most notable papers examining the urban development of the city of Tunja presented at the colloquium "Miradas urbanas de Tunja en el siglo XX" (Tunja urban looks in the 20th century), organized in 2008 by the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts of the University of Boyacá. The texts analyze the unconsented and unplanned "urban modernization" throughout the 20th century, a series of state actions in detriment of the city's integral development: mobility, public services, environment and social service institutions.
