Inaugural catalogue of the museum "Museo del Estanquillo" located in the former building of La Esmeralda in the historic center of Mexico City and that now houses the vast collection that author Carlos Monsiváis has collected during his life. The collected pieces include Mexican folkart, photography, fine art, caricatures, popular culture iconography and more. It is an "ode" to Mexican culture. Some pieces include a series of scale models done by Mrs. Teresa Nava; bone miniatures by Roberto Ruiz; the boxes with miniature scenes and small lead sculptures created by the Torres couple, caricatures, comic books, prints from the TGP (Taller de la Gráfica Popular), photographs and paintings amongst other pieces. Part of the large collection of more than 10,000 pieces includes authors like Francisco Toledo, Miguel Covarrubias, Julio Ruelas, "Chango" Ernesto Garcia Cabral, Abel Quezada, Rius (Eduardo del Río), Rogelio Naranjo, Helio Flores, Gabriel Vargas, Manuel Manilla, José Guadalupe Posada, Leopoldo Méndez, Hugo Brehme, Manuel Álvarez Bravo, Agustín Jiménez, Nacho López, Vicente Rojo, Germán Gedovius and many more.
