Solo exhibition where artist Elio Rodríguez (b. Cuba 1966) presents his installation "Black Ceiba Tree", a soft branched sculpture that was created in 2009 using black fabrics, rubber, metal and ceramic combined to insinuate flexible volumes, exaggerated, almost pornographic. The installation is Rodriguez' personal and sarcastic version of the sacred tree of the Maya and Cuban African religion (Yoruba) and represents Cuba and its people, seen by many only as touristic destiny for entertainment, particularly for the sexual type. Contents: Ceiba Negra (Black Ceiba tree) = Ceiba Negra = Capoquer negre / Orlando Hernández -- Neo-Baroque dance for Iroko (or about how Elio Rodríguez suggests a carnival related to the Cuban spirit…wherever it is) = Danza Neo-Barroca (o de como Elio Rodríguez propone un carnaval de lo cubano…allí donde esté) = Dansa Neobarroca per Iroko (o de com Elio Rodríguez proposa un carnestoites del cubà..alli on estiga) / Omar-Pascual Castillo. ENGLISH, SPANISH AND VALENCIAN.
