Collection of interviews that accompanies a study done on the colonial architecture in Santo Domingo in Oaxaca during the restoration. Study reveals how certain buildings were discovered agian and their transformation into modern, functioning offices such as the Instituto Oaxaqueño de las Culturas. "The first part of this work consists of several interviews in which state government officials discuss the restoration of the Santo Domingo complex. The second part consisted of a letter to King Philip II by the Bishop of Oaxaca, Fray Bernardo de Albuquerque, about the 'problem' of the indigenous population, along with other letters"--Handbook of Latin American Studies, v. 58.
