The book "Passages: Helen Escobedo" is a tribute to the artistic legacy of sculptor, writer and curator Helen (Elena) Escobedo (b. Mexico City 1934-2010). Sketches, collages, notes and drawings attest to the vitality of her sculptural creation, her installations and interventions in public spaces, which marked its production and that were breaking new ground. This volume brings together texts by the artist herself, as well as trials of Rita Eder, Graciela Schmilchuk, José Emilio Pacheco, Néstor García Canclini, Angélica Abeyeira, Francisco Reyes Palma, Raquel Tibol and Jorge Alberto Manrique. The edition comprises pictures that document her work, allowing a better understanding of her ephemeral work as well as the extension of her production. The first part of the book corresponds to her monumental sculptures, created with vivid colors as well as environments in specific architectural spaces; the second on her installations and her work on paper; and finally the texts that concerns her life and work.
